Do the work. It’s the only remedy.

Women, especially, are trained from birth not to escalate situations with men.

Children who are raised by a volatile, unpredictable and at times physically violent mother may tip toe through life trying not to escalate situations with women.

Whatever your pattern is, the sooner you identify and clarify the patterns that unconsciously shape your behaviour, the better for you, and for the other parties.

So if you tip toe around older women in case they start screaming at you, your practice may be to stand your ground. Standing your ground around some older women may unleash a torrent of verbal (or at times physical) abuse.

So we need to put our safety first. And we also need to practice standing our ground. The latter does not mean you are a predator or an Energy Thief.

If standing your ground unleashes a torrent of abuse from the other party?

Depending on the circumstances, it merely indicates the other party is abusive.

Here’s a thing: Intention indicates whether you are a button pusher, a low energy social predator, pitching up at dinner parties to get supply, or whether you’re simply a human being standing your ground, with honest intentions. Do the work anyway.
